Architecture
INtime nodes can exist inside a Windows PC (local nodes) or in an INtime PC (remote nodes). Communication by global objects within one PC does not require networking hardware. But when global objects are used between different PCs, all nodes must have access to the network.
There are various ways to achieve this:
A node can have its own, dedicated network interface card (NIC)
The first node (core zero) in an INtime PC has its own NIC and provides network access to the other nodes in that PC
Instead of a NIC, the Virtual Ethernet driver (vether) can be used between Windows and an INtime node on the same PC
