19. Diagnostics and Integration

INtime provides a broad set of tools and utilities for diagnostics and integration that help to develop and maintain real-time applications. These tools and utilities run on Windows and work with INtime for Windows as well as INtime distributed RTOS as a target.

The tools can be categorized depending on when you use them in the application life-cycle

Qualify a hardware platform for your real-time application
Support for the cross-development environment Windows à real-time applications
Event logging during execution of the real-time application
Timing analysis and object inspection

There are no hard borders between debugging, diagnostics and integration. Often you use the tools discussed in this section in combination with the dedicated debugger provided in Visual Studio and Tenasys’ provided debuggers described in a separate chapter.

While we have not planned on a dedicated lab for “Diagnostics and Integration”, try to use all the tools and utilities described here in one of your lab exercises.
